Weather Park utilizes wordplay in order to paint pictures of a life in constant motion as he wades through various vibes, thought-provoking poetry, and true stories. Implementing the verbal intent of classic East Coast hip-hop with a 21st century emotional acuity, he presents a distinct and dynamic style of his own. In between listening to everyone from A Tribe Called Quest to Drake and Mac Miller, he absorbed energy from his surroundings. Growing up in Brooklyn, the neighborhood and its streets proved enlightening as he drew inspiration from fellow poets and the city itself. “Brooklyn helped me see where I wanted to be,” he explains. “My creative process came out of learning how to express myself.” Between basketball and hanging with friends, he eventually approached a laptop and a mic with an idea. He adopted the name Weather Park for an important reason. “The weather can be a sandstorm, rainstorm, tidal wave, or earthquake,” he notes. “You can’t anticipate what I might or might not do. I think of this Earth as a playground, so I combined ‘Weather’ and ‘Park’ together.” Weather says "I met him as a father not a musician, and it gave trueness to myself. When it comes to being an artist, I know how to give myself authentically. He gave enough for me to understand where I came from, respecting the man before the entertainer." Ultimately, Weather Park fulfills a cosmically designed destiny with much more music to come.
