Although the New Orleans Native began honing his craft while in High school making mixtapes for classmates, it wasn't until 2002 that his hard work and dedication landed him a residency with the House of Blues in New Orleans which gained him access to work with popular acts such as “L.L. Cool J”, “Common”, “Snoop Dogg,” “Robin Thicke”, “Doug E. Fresh,” “Black Eyed Peas” ,“Pharrell,” and many, more. The following year he began touring across America with multiplatinum artist B.G. Which then led him to producing one of his highly rated mixtapes "Built to Last". Hektik also works with other New Orleans Natives such as Hot Boy Turk, Dee-1 along with a host of others.
