Biography

LAURA ALONSO PADIN, soprano Laura Alonso Padín, holds one of the European Union's culture awards year 2011. She has made her brilliant debut with Ariadne auf Naxos at the Staatsoper in Berlin and sung in the vast majority of the most important theaters in Germany since she was 21 years old and was at the Aalto Theater ( Essen) on Ensemble. Her debut at the Innsbruck Festival (Austria) with the role of Cleopatra in the opera Giulio Cesare, by Antonio Sartorio, earned her the meritorious Diapason D'or from the French critics. She replaced Angela Gheorghiu as Magda in La Rondine in Utrecht (Netherlands) to great critical acclaim, and did great performances at the prestigious Salzburg Festival with La Finta Giardiniera as Amina, on the occasion of the Mozart year with the staging of Doris Dörrie. She has made her debut at the Alice Tully Hall of the Lincoln Center in New York, as well as in Rome singing Mahler's fourth symphony with the Rome Symphony and did important concerts in China, Egypt, and America, among others... She has sung in venues such as the Rishon Le Zion Auditorium (Israel), the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico, the Philharmonie in Köln, the Konzerthaus and the Philharmonie in Berlin, Karlsruhe, the Konzerthaus in Dortmund and the Philharmonie in Essen, the Kuppel Saal in Hannover (Germany), Herodes Atticus in Athens, Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Los Angeles Auditorium (USA)... www.laura-alonso.com
