Biography

Mélanie Adami has made a name for herself as a diverse soprano with great charisma on stage and in the concert hall. She had her first experiences on stage while still a pupil at the Theater St. Gallen as a member of the in-house choir. During her studies at the Hochschule der Künste in Zurich, which she completed in 2004 with a Master’s in Performing Arts, she performed as a soloist in various opera productions and concerts. In the autumn of 2002, she debuted as Frasquita (Carmen) at the Luzerner Theater, where she was a member of the ensemble for several years and sang other roles such as Oscar (Un ballo in maschera) and Papagena (Zauberflöte). She has built up a successful career. One of Mélanie Adami’s specialties is major roles in operettas, such as Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow) and Rosalinde (Fledermaus), which she has sung on stage with great success in more than 140 performances. On the concert stage Mélanie Adami has been heard in the great works of the Classical (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven) and Romantic (Gounod, Rheinberger, Richard Strauss, Mahler, etc.) periods as well as in the chamber-music literature. In recent years, she has begun to dedicate herself to the lied which received wide critical acclaim. In 2024, Mélanie Adami released her fourth album, titled Vergessene Lieder, Vergessene Lieb (Forgotten Songs, Forgotten Love). WWW.MELANIEADAMI.COM
