Biography

After reforming in 2012, South London Metalcore band Vanity (previously known as Vanity Draws Blood) released their first EP, “I Witness”, at the beginning of 2014 and have since then been dedicated on getting themselves out into the music industry one carnage inducing gig at a time. After a reflective period, the band decided to focus on creating a series of works under the title Perspective, the first of which released in 2016 called Perspective // Dread containing the single release Anxiety featuring CJ McMahon of Thy Art Is Murder. In 2017, the second part to this series was released under the name Perspective // Empathy. Unlike its counterpart, this focused more on reflecting the different emotions that they have worked through in their lives whilst giving their audiences something relatable. The two combined represent a spectrum of different emotions. The six-piece band, fronted by two vocalists, creates a unique chemistry on stage, both visually and vocally. Vanity combine a range of influences to create something unique, that doesn’t just focus on one aspect, but is descriptive and reinforces the lyrical content and music through image, persona and atmosphere. Vanity have taken their emotive metal through Europe and Russia alongside the likes of We Came As Romans, Chelsea Grin, Thy Art Is Murder, Black Tongue and I Killed The Prom Queen.
