Alih Jey is multifaceted singer, songwriter and producer that hails from the Dominican Republic. Born into a musical family, Alih learned to sing at age two, and by three years old was singing in five-part harmony with her parents and two sisters. Her father, Aníbal De Peña, was a renowned singer from the Dominican Republic. He greatly contributed to D.R’s history, having written their official Revolutionary anthem, politically fueled music, and much beloved romantic boleros. Alih Jey began writing songs at the age of 14. By 16, she was signed to Universal Music Latino and had her first top-forty hit, “It’s Ok.” Alih has always felt like a little rocker at heart, but her pop sensibilities are undeniable. This, combined with growing up around tropical and urban music has resulted in an explosive bi-lingual versatility present in the music she makes. Whether singing rock, indie/Latin or pop, Alih brings power, sultriness and soul. She’s become a successful singer and songwriter in her own right. Apart from being a Grammy-nominated artist , Alih writes for TV, Film, Major recording artists, and performs with them as well. She’s played for audiences of up to 40,000 people and received glowing reviews for her albums from Billboard, NPR and KCRW. Alih’s written songs for JLO, Ricky Martin, Jessica Simpson, Leon Leiden, Bacilos and more. She’s performed with Carlos Vives for the Encanto Musical on Disney Plus, as well as The LA Philharmonic, Ximena Xariñana and more.
