Michael Duwe aka Mickie D, born and raised in West-Berlin, played with bands like AGITATION FREE, recorded with ASHRA TEMPEL and Timothy Leary the legendary album 7UP, produced with METROPOLIS a multi media show based on Ray Bradbury's short story Kaleidoscope, composed music for children, theater plays or songs for artist friends, like SUN & MOON for Michael Hoenig’s „DEPARTURE FROM THE NORTHERN WASTELAND“ . In 1978, in collaboration with musicians like Helmut Hattler & Jan Fride (KRAAN), Manuel Goettsching (ASHRA) or Michael Shrieve (SANTANA), and together with the german electronic mastermind Klaus Schulze as producer, Mickie D recorded his first Solo-Album "MICKIE D's UNICORN" which was the first release on Klaus Schulze's newly founded IC-Label. (IC/ WEA in 1979) His second solo album NO REGRETS was first released in 1989 by edel records, with the help of musicians such as Helmut Hattler (KRAAN), Jacki Liebezeit (CAN), Eff Jott Krueger (IDEAL) and producers like Conni Plank or Wolfgang Loos (ALPHAVILLE). Still with an electronic approach influenced by Klaus Schulze, the songs on NO REGRETS reflect a period of loneliness, anxiety and isolation, with love and hope as the light on the horizon. Since the mid-90's, in collaboration with the composer Torsten Sense, he specialized in writing Soundtracks for TV and Cinema. He lives and works in Berlin/ Germany and Liguria/ Italy.
