Ars Nova Napoli is an italian folk band born in Naples in 2009. They were born with the love for the Campania folk music and during their early years the streets of the historical center of Naples were their natural stage. In their free time, they firmly believe in the importance of street art as a means of sharing popular culture and free artistic expression. They played in the squares, alleyways, markets and sidewalks of all Italy, and they participated in the main events and festivals in France, Spain, Greece and Switzerland. They participated in countless festivals and popular festivals, thanks to which they have supported the connection with music and stories of the culture of Campania and have deepened the ethno-musical research of the rest of Italy. Currently the group performs a varied repertoire, open to the multiple sounds of the south and beyond, from the pugliese pizziche to Sicilian serenades, from the Neapolitan classics to the Calabrian tarantellas, and even appearing beyond its borders discovers connections with the Greek rebetiko and music Balkan. Their first studio album “Chi fatica se more ‘e famme” came out on June 2016. They presented it in Naples, Venice, Pordenone, Tuscany (Italy) and in Neuchatel, Biel, Zurich and Lugano (Switzerland). Actually, they worked on new album, that will come in Spring 2019.
