Louisville, Kentucky has a lot of talent but one artist has always stood out from the crowd and his name is Smoketown Knave. He is highly respected by his peers and has been nominated numerous time in multiple categories for the Kentucky Urban Entertainment Awards, winning “lyricist of the year” in 2017. He is undeniably humble with a boy next door persona. Born and raised in the Sheppard Square Housing Projects, Knave began writing poetry in the third grade and it soon turned into the lyrics he conveys today, illustrating his environment, tragic losses and the overall reality black men face in our society. With 13 albums and mixtapes under his belt, Knave recently released his highly anticipated album, “Ya’ll Made Me This Way”, featuring Nashville, Tennessee’s very own Starlito. This album shares Knave’s growth as an artist lyrically leaving you with relatable thoughts society shares in life. Knave plans to release visuals complementing each song on the album, more interviews and a raw documentary presenting his everyday life in the Smoketown neighborhood.
