Black Velvet Butterfly is gothic rock music from Auckland New Zealand. The music is what you'd expect from the genre. Drum machines, rock guitars and creepy church organs setting the backdrop for crooning vocals and clever lyrics. Influenced by 80's new wave, modern dark wave and 90's industrial. Black Velvet Butterfly is spooky but danceable. The music doesn't take its self too seriously, with subtle humour at play in places and also moments of raw emotion and rock and roll attitude.
