Biography

Pedro Alfonso (Shakira, Gloria Estefan, JLo, etc.) is a Cuban-American violinist, composer and producer. He’s been working as a violinist, arranger, composer, and musical director for the most popular and talented artists in the world’s music business. The first recording of Alfonso’s work, while living in the US, was on Gloria Estefan's “Alma Caribeña” (Caribbean Soul), on October 1998. His distinctive talents were honored with a Grammy and a Billboard Latin Music Award. That same year, he was recording with Shakira on her MTV Unplugged CD, winning another Grammy. Pedro Alfonso had also worked with Bacilos, when they got the Latin Grammy for Best Pop Album for the work “Caraluna”. Numerous tracks on this CD, including the single “Mi Primer Millón” (“My First Million”), was also honored with a Latin Grammy for Best Tropical Song, feature Alfonso's signature violin sound. Alfonso has a discography of more than 500 major-label CDs and also recorded and toured with many of the biggest names in music, including Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Bacilos, Julio Iglesias, Franco De Vita, Alexander Pires, José Feliciano, Jaci Velasquez, David Bisbal, Don Omar, Oscar de León, Tito Nieves, Olga Tañón, Thalía, Jon Secada, Roberto Carlos and many others. He also owns Xtrings (xtrings.com), a recording studio for String Orchestras based in Miami.
