Lush, sophisticated soft rock and chilled, mellow nu-disco will feature on Kappekoff's upcoming album, Old Spring. Behind the name Kappekoff stands bassist and producer Magnus Falkenberg from Oslo. The music is related to the electronic Oslo-disco made famous by artists such as Lindstrøm and Todd Terje, where Falkenberg blends pop music, jazz, improvisation, and electronic music. In 2016, the single "All Day Long" was released, a track that was shared so many times on Spotify that it reached second place on Spotify's Global Viral 50 list, a list that shows "...the most shared, trending tracks across the entire World." The track was nominated for hit of the year at Norwegian music magazine GAFFA. With the third album New Spring, Kappekoff slowed down the tempo and explored the jazz-oriented outskirts of the hip-hop landscape, with guest artists like Ivan Ave and Stephanos Yowhannes. The upcoming Old Spring, which is the second album in a two-part project, showcases the more dancefloor friendly side of Kappekoff, with nods to yacht rock, in addition to jazz and improvisation. Both albums feature a number of guest artists. On Old Spring, Kappekoff is joined by Ragnhild og, Neon Ion, Thomas Busch and rapper Pasha.
