Born and raised in Nagpur, India, without a family background related to music, he always listened to music technically with his ears but it made sense to him melodiously, this is what made him fall in love with piano in the first place. It was the vigor of breaking down music and rearranging it in his own peculiar way which made him decide that he needed to learn more about it. Few years later, that’s exactly what happened when he got in to KM Music Conservatory which is run by India’s foremost composer AR Rahman’s foundation. This conservatory made him gain knowledge about Music Production. After producing lot music for his friends and doing it professionally, he decided to concentrate more on his personal passion of producing his own music and performing on stage, which made him to join a band called ‘Badmast’, which is based out in Pune, India and performs across India and Africa. Though his performance journey had already started with being a part of a progressive Rock band called “Schwa” which he joined in 2016 to explore his raw experimental side, which he still is currently a part of. Susmit’s music can broadly be put in experimental folk genre but his music production till date can give you a glimpse of him being comfortable with all genres. He is presently based in Pune and works with ‘Badmast’, does production work for other artists and is also working on his own deep house album.
