Biography

Miroslav Škoro (Osijek, July 29, 1962) is a Croatian composer, arranger, producer and singer. His first band was "Zadnja stanica" (1979), followed by OK Band (1982) and Slavonski Bećari (1985). During his stay in the USA, he collaborated with Jerry Grcevich, who recorded his first tamburitza album in Pittsburgh in 1989. As a solo artist, he was accompanied by TS Dike (1992), TS Slavonske lole (1993), TS Ravnica (1993), and TS Sitan vez (1997). He has penned a number of hit songs (i.e. Ne dirajte mi ravnicu, Šumi, šumi, javore, Otvor ženo kapiju, Mata, Svetinja, Kuća na kraju sela, Milo moje, Sude mi, Ne vjeruje srce pameti, Domovina, Sve poštivam, svoje uživam, etc. ). He has also written numerous songs for other artists, as well as for film and television. He is the owner of 19 awards for the most listened songs of the Požega Festival; two Zlatna ptica awards; the Zlatni galeb award from the Melodies of the Croatian Adriatic festival; the Večernjakova ruža award; two Hit godine awards; two Grand prixes from the Croatian Radio Festival; the Večernjakov ekran award; the Order of Danica Hrvatska award; the Order of the Croatian Trefoil and the Homeland's Gratitude Medal.
