Miyama McQueen-Tokita is an experimental and new music artist. Her style exhibits her unique bi-musicality of having received Western music training and learning the koto, a traditional Japanese zither, from a young age. Her music cannot be easily defined to be one particular genre, but derives elements from contemporary classical, traditional Japanese, popular, various folk, and alternative musics. She is based in Tokyo, but performs internationally in Europe, America and Australia regularly.
