Conor Matthew's sound is a dynamic fusion of country, pop, and R&B, shaped by his childhood, where local country radio was a constant backdrop. Inspired by the lyrical depth of 80s and 90s Music City legends like Brooks & Dunn and Travis Tritt, he honed his songwriting craft while also absorbing the melodic genius of artists like Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake. After moving to Nashville at 18, Conor found success as a songwriter for artists like Sam Hunt and Megan Moroney (among many others), but he realized he wanted to express his own story. While finding success as a pop artist, he discovered that he was making music he thought people wanted to hear rather than what felt truly authentic to him. This realization prompted him to take a couple of years off from his artist project. It gave him the space to reflect, uncover his true voice, and explore a sound that blends traditional Nashville storytelling with infectious pop and R&B melodies. The result is a genre-bending style that is distinctly his own—authentic to his roots yet fresh and innovative, adding a new dimension to Music City’s vibrant music scene. “PIECES,” the first single from his new project *MAGIC*, releases December 20th, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Conor’s artistry.
