Efkan Şeşen was born in Istanbul in 1963. He spent six years of his youth as a prisoner of the fascist military junta. Throughout his lifetime, he has actively participated in fighting for human rights, democracy, and freedom. His character, attitude and spirit of resistance are reflected in his songs and albums. Producing, opposition songs and siding with the people. Music career: He was a founding member of Grup Yorum in 1987 and was their soloist for the following four years. In this period, he was arrested several times as a result of actions taken against restraints and prohibitions on art. He started producing his own music after 1991 and released his own albums. He performed his music in many cities in Anatolia and was invited to many alternative festivals in Europe. He has released 15 albums, two of which consist of his famous whistle, a reliable friend from his prison days. Since 2016, he has been living in the Netherlands. Until very recently, he released his albums under his own company called “Sesen Muziekproductie”. His new album “ID”, consisting of his new songs translated in nine languages, met with his listeners on all digital music platforms on May 1, 2021. He releases single songs from time to time, and his third whistling album, consisting of world popular melodies, "Colours and Whistles Vol.3" was released on all digital stores and platforms on April 30, 2024.
