Mike Catalano Pianist, composer, NY veteran for 30 years, Mike is best known for his hugely successful Manhattan Affair CD released worldwide on Catman Records and Videoarts Music in Japan, his distinct memorable melodies on such worldwide radio hits such as “Lelena” and “Take me Back to Rio”, “Raf’s Theme”, and the single “Smooth as Silk” which reached #1 on American Radio charts. He’s known for his collaborative efforts on his own music recordings and performances with variety of jazz legends between A Manhattan Affair and his first CD A Rio Affair (Caju/Polygram/Catman), His Cds and live shows are a virtual who’s who of modern jazz performers playing on his music, Will Lee, Bob James, Steve Gadd, Randy Brecker, Blue Lou Marini, Mark Egan, Ivan Lins, Rob Mounsey, Peter Erskine, Shawn Pelton, Chuck Loeb, Cornell Dupree, Toninho Horta, Ricardo Silveira, Ronnie Cuber, Alex Foster, Bashiri Johnson, Armando Marcal, Nico Assumpcao, Lew Soloff, Alan Rubin, Tom Scott, Donald Harrison, Omar Hakim. Additionally Mike has composed over 200 pieces of music for Fox TV’s A Current Affair, The Reporters, Good Day New York and more.
