Shamar is an artist who is just a product of his environment. Born April 21, 1994 in Harlem, NY, but has lived everywhere from the outskirts of Atlanta to north county San Diego. Living in many different areas you hear many different influences from Lil Wayne, 2Pac, Kendrick Lamar, Dipset, & Vaporwave overall as a genre, just to name a few. He started rapping in middle school in freestyle battles but did not record his first song until 2010 at 16 years old. As a teen he went by a different name, Millz. Under this moniker he would release 10 mixtapes full of remixes and originals from 2010-12, gaining over 500,000+ views on YouTube. As of 2015, he officially became shamar with the release of his mixtape Meet Shamar. As of 2017 he began producing and in 2018 plans to release several projects for his fan base Pilot Posse.
