Biography

Flutist; Song writer; Music arranger He started flute at Izmir Dokuz Eylul University State Conservatory After graduating from the high school department of the conservatory in 1997, he went to Paris and was accepted to François Veilhan's supérieur class at the Ecole Nationale de Musique “Conservatoire Marcel Dupré”. In 1999, with the first prize from the department of supérieur; He graduated from the perfectionnement department with the best grade (mention trés bien) in 2001. He then continued his studies with Philippe Lesgourgues at the Conservatoire National Région de Saint Maur. In the same period, he took piccolo (small flute) lessons from the solo piccolo player of the Paris Orchestra, Ivan Degardin. He attended the master class of world famous soloist James Galway.  During the 2005-2008 concert seasons, the artist worked as a piccolo solo in the Istanbul Crr symphonic orchestra and the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra. The artist was invited as a solo flutist to the German-Austrian tour of the Russian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra in January 2019; Within the scope of the tour, he took the stage in world famous concert halls including Berlin Philharmonic, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Leipzig Gewandhaus and Vienna Konzerthaus.   Having earned the right to enter the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra in 2008, Sözer still works as a principal flute and organizes master classes all over Turkey. Sonat Sözer has been one of the Pearl Flute artists as of November 2019.
