Jessi Mason’s voice is soothing, her perspective is empathetic, and her honesty is what forces the listener to examine their feelings and experiences. Her indie-rock sound is defined by buzzing electric guitars, lush synths, and intimate vocals. Jessi is originally from New York, a self-proclaimed Hudson Valley Baby, but has landed in Los Angeles after moving back and forth over the past five years. Mason writes about being lovesick and hopelessly devoted - but that’s only half of what she has to say. The other half is about exploring, becoming, and finding identity through those moments of love and rejection. There is a maturity to her music, that can only be boiled down to her dedication to understanding her experience on this earth. After finding her first real breakout moment with her “Night Owl” EP release in 2018, she has made strides towards a more mature and grounded sound. Jessi recently released a double-single “Everest // When It Rains in LA” that reflects the growth she has undergone in the past few years. After experiencing true heart-break, and coming to terms with the aftershock, her music has found new depth. Jessi can be found at songwriter nights in Los Angeles, drinking a Stella, and wearing the coolest vintage coat you wish you saw first. We can expect to hear new music from her in 2020.
