Biography

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, May 25, 1952, Zoraida Santiago is the most consistent and influential female singer-songwriter in Puerto Rico. Started her recording career with Roy Brown in the group Aires Bucaneros, recording two LP's in 1979 (Aires Bucaneros) and 1980 (Casi alba) while living and working in New York. She continued her work as an independent composer, singer and recording artist in Puerto Rico since 1982. She has recorded several albums, musicalized poems by renowned poet Julia de Burgos, composed, interpreted and recorded music for film and dance, as well as theatre.
