Singer/songwriter Ali Gilbert was born and raised in Tamworth UK. After picking up a guitar at the age of 22 he began writing his own original material about his mental health struggles along with falling in love and dealing with heartbreak. His debut EP ‘Truth Be Told’ released the beginning of 2019 included 5 tracks in which include popular singles 'Runaway' and 'Only You' based on real life personal experiences about love rejection and mental health. After receiving recognition from local press and radio stations such as BBC Introducing he has since built a loyal fanbase hosting two sold out headline shows at The 02 Academy 3 and The Sunflower Lounge Birmingham. This caught the interest of promoters AMG (Academy Music Group) landing him support slots opening shows for the likes of Indie/Folk Australian Band Sons Of The East, William Duvall(Alice In Chains) Echobelly and Ariel Posen. Ali is set to release his 2nd EP towards the end of Summer 2024 which include more recent single releases 'Run By The River' 'Neon Paradise' and 'Set Me Free' which was recently picked by well known radio host Rakeem Omar's BBC Introducing 'Track of the Week' Ali will later this year be playing 4 x headline shows kicking off in Birmingham followed by Manchester, London and Liverpool.
