Biography

David Luján Shedda is a social scientist, teacher and musician. He was born in Cali and resides in Bogotá (Colombia). He is a pioneer of Colombian hip-hop. His career since 1996 with the Cali Rap Cartel and Artefacto groups with whom he produced 3 albums: Armada Zomacimen and Cali Rap Cartel II (Cali Rap Cartel), and Versificadores (Artefacto, nowadays Hispanic rap classics. It is established between the city of Cali and Bogotá, although it also collaborated with various artists of urban Colombian music and fusion such as Papaya Republik, Dragão, Asilo 38 and Tostao, among many others. His musical perspectives address various types of music such as hip-hop, reggae and avant-garde electronic trends. In 2019 he published the book Genealogy of rap in Cali, in which he recorded an investigation of the rapper phenomenon of this Colombian city for more than 10 years, specifically about the rap of the nineties and its beginnings. On a professional level he has a degree in Edu. Artistic, Master in Interdisciplinary Social Research and teacher in the area of music. His publications are in various scientific journals in Spain, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico. The DLS album presents 10 songs tied to an experimental and forceful sound that goes through electric guitar riffs, cumbiambecus percussions, old and school cuts and a certified flow in a trajectory of more than 20 years of microphone experience.
