Black Sun Rising (stylized blksnrsng), also known as Kisile, is a hip-hop artist born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. From an early age, he was surrounded by music and musicality, and hip-hop captured his imagination and interest. As the late 90s/early 2000s sounds of neo-soul and socially conscious rap artists bloomed around him, Kisile began to put his pen to paper in an attempt to emulate what he heard. As he grew and life’s challenges grew along with him, writing took a backseat to life, but his love for music and hip-hop never wavered. Throughout high school and college, he flirted with music production and lyricism as an inconsistent hobby. It wasn’t until post-graduate tragedy and the stresses of life that he began to write in earnest, as a way to communicate and release the feelings weighing on him. Thus, Krossroadz was born, an ode to personal struggle, recognition of internal flaws and strengths, and the potential transformation that self-realization can bring. He writes to give voice to the thoughts inside, and hopes that others in their personal journeys will find messages in the music that resonate similarly.
