Biography

Cardiff born DJ Keltech grew up in the 80's, he spent his time watching horror movies, playing arcade games and listening to electronic music. He was heavily influenced by synth artists like Jean Michael Jarre and John Carpenter sound tracks. Towards the end of the 80's he was into the early rave mix tapes and Hip Hop scene which inspired him to become a DJ. By the late 90's he was releasing music on various independent record labels and learning the art of scratching. A few years on he was established on the local Welsh Hip Hop scene as a producer and scratch DJ winning 3 Welsh Music awards. He competed 6 times in the famous Technics World DMC DJ championships with his best result coming 2nd in regional finals. In 2005 just for laugh he decided to video one of his DJ routines dressed as Darth Vader and scratched the Imperial March music by John Williams. Shortly after uploading the video it blew up going viral all over the internet. The success of the video soon reached the press, the news was featured on the first page of yahoo.com and he was interviewed for the starwars.com website. Not only did a he get a signed Christmas card from George Lucas he was asked to officially remix the War of the World's track for composer Jeff Wayne, this got released on the remixed album II via Sony/BMG. DJ Keltech is getting well known for his creative videos that all have a fun sense of humour, he uses old school methods and vintage hardware to make his creations.
