Macjreyz is an exceptionally talented artist. Born Ezenwata Henry Ifeanyi, the Lagos based singer hails from Anambra state, the eastern part of Nigeria. He is the first of two children. Growing up, Macjreyz was drawn to music through his love for unique sounds – he grew up listening to different genres of music, an act that has informed his musical direction as an artist. Macjreyz kicked off his music career in 2013 with his first studio recording at 16yrs. In his own words, “I’m not that much of a talker so I express myself through music, music is my art of communication.” The rising singer did a few covers of popular songs for artists such as 2Baba, Eazi and so on. One of which got him the attention of popular Nigerian banku singer and founder of emPawa Africa Mr Eazi. His first E.P dropped in 2019 titled “THREESOME”. The “THREESOME” E.P. was produced by NaughtyBeatz, a melodious combination of afrobeat, hip hop with a sweet blend of Caribbean vibes. August 2020, he dropped his single “Money Anthem”. The video was released in November 2020 shot by Perliks Definition. Aside from being an afrobeat artist, Macjreyz gets his charisma in music from influences such as Damian Marley, Tupac, Fela, etc. In his words, “good music has always been my thing and I don’t want to be seen as just a rapper but more of an artist – a creator.” Macjreyz is working hard in the studio to create more beautiful music, he also has some amazing features coming up soon.
