Jaymz Bee began his career as the frontman for Look People, a theatrical Canadian rock band with jazz, funk and pop overtones. "Five guys who think they are playing jazz", while based in Europe in the last nineties, they shared stages with Bob Geldoff, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Los Lobos, among others. Jim Carrey hired Bee and his band to record the backing track for his Las Vegas act, after recording a TV show with them. Look People disbanded in 1994 and Bee continued to wear many hats. Nightclub Owner (The Beehive) Gallery Curator (JBAGO) musical director (CBC TV) television host (Global, Much Music) and video director (Rheostatics, Robbie Rox, The Jim Rose Circus Sideshow, etc.) Jaymz has also written three books, “Cocktail Parties for Dummies” (for IDG) “Cosmic Fishing” (for Insomniac Press) and his latest “Colour Me Crazy” (part memoir/part colouring book). Jaymz was president of Leisure Lab Records (SONY/BMG), and in the late 90s led The Royal Jelly Orchestra on several North American Tours. The RJO released 6 albums, most notably “Cocktail Shakin’ & Stirred”. Bee's other bands include Bonzai Suzuki, Tuk (a collaboration with Carl Peron), The Tiki Collective and a one-off alum for Oglio Records in the U.S. called “Sub Urban” by Jaymz Bee & The Deep Lounge Coalition. He released 8 recordings on his own label, Timely Manor - all the while working as a publisher for Happy Fingers Music. Currently, Jaymz Bee is A&R, producer and an artist for Vesuvius Music Inc.
