Tech death/math/deathcore from the northern US, Nigh Ungodly have an eclectic style, using odd and frequently-changing time signatures and tempos. Influences range from tech death, prog metal, melodic death metal, mathcore, metalcore, technical/melodic deathcore, and more. Their debut EP—Mimic Prophecy—was released August 21, 2020. Nigh Ungodly was founded by Vanna Dillinger (guitarist) and Shawn Mills (vocalist) in January 2019. Their first single “Writhing Identity” was released June 2019 as a teaser for the upcoming EP, Mimic Prophecy. September, guitarist Kaitlynn Benoit was added. November, their second single "Aberrant Silhouette" was released as a B-side to the EP. December 10, they released a fully re-imagined metal cover of the classic holiday tune "Last Christmas", just in time for the holidays. June 2020, Fleshbore bassist Cole Daniels joined the group. Their debut EP Mimic Prophecy was released August 21, 2020. They released a 6-movement experimental “micro-EP” Stygian Blue the following Halloween and a remastered “Last Christmas” a month later in November.
