Follow @TheBlossomDearie on Instagram! Jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer from the bebop era Blossom Dearie, was a child genius that had a singular drive. For Verve Records, Blossom recorded six phenomenal albums. Oscar Peterson's rhythm section rounded out Blossom's band incuding Ray Brown, Ed Thigpen, and Jo Jones. My Gentleman Friend featured her husband, Bobby Jaspar. Blossom shared the bill with Miles Davis at the Village Vanguard and recorded an album for Capitol Records entitled “May I Come In.” She began recording for Ronnie Scott and toured the world. Musical admirers, she and @John Lennon wrote songs for each other. Blossom Dearie sang at Carnegie Hall. She recorded the Schoolhouse Rock songs, "Figure Eight" and "Unpack Your Adjectives" and founded the world’s first successful and truly woman-owned label, Daffodil Records. Thirteen albums followed and they are being remastered and reissued!
