Biography

Aaron Petit (26) is an American pianist based in Portland, Oregon. He considers his career in music to be a great blessing from God. His life long goal is to share the love of music that he has enjoyed with all of his audience; listeners, students, and professionals alike. Aaron graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami: Frost School of Music under the tutelage of Santiago Rodriguez and Naoko Takao. He continues serious study with concert pianist Mark Salman in Seattle, Washington. Other regular private teachers have included Mark Westcott, Chris Engbretson, Renato Fabbro and Peter Brownlee. Aaron has received top prizes in 10 piano competitions in the US including the Gershwin International Music Competition in NYC, the Seattle Philharmonic Don Bushell Concerto Competition (runner-up), and most recently, the MTNA-Steinway Young Artist Piano Competition for Oregon state in 2023. His curiosity of the piano repertoire has led him to learn nearly 11 hours of solo piano music in the last 14 years. Since his orchestral debut at age 15, Aaron has performed 9 piano concertos with either second piano or orchestra. Between 2013 and 2019, Aaron participated in over 30 masterclasses with internationally renown pianists and teachers including, Daniel Pollack, Vadym Kholodenko, Elizabeth Roe, Angela Cheng, Nelita True, John Perry, Ory Shihor, and Paul Roberts to name a few. An avid teacher himself, Aaron has coached over 100 students since 2011.
