Kasper Tranberg (b. 1971 in Denmark) Trumpet player, composer and improviser who likes poetry. Since the early 1990's Tranberg has collaborated with a wide range of Danish artists, including Iceage, John Tchicai, Marilyn Mazur, Efterklang, Jakob Bro, Lars H.U.G., Jesper Zeuthen, Hugo Rasmussen, T.S. Høeg, Mew, Lotte Anker, Peter Peter, Hanne Boel, Jacob Anderskov, Michael Simpson, Swan Lee, Savage Rose and C.V. Jørgensen. In addition to collaborating and recording two albums with the iconic Dr. Yusef Lateef, Tranberg has also performed and recorded with international artists, e.g. Mercer Ellington, Alexander Von Schlippenbach, James Moody, Ray Anderson, Steve Swallow, Tim Berne, Django Bates, Kip Hanrahan, Marc Ducret and Chris Potter among many others. In 2019 Tranberg received the prestigious Ben Webster Prize, and has recently marked himself through his solo concerts in Denmark and Japan.
