From San Antonio and raised in Fredericksburg, Stephanie Urbina Jones and her history-making Honky Tonk Mariachi are telling a new story in country music. The new single, “Rhinestone Cowgirl” is a triumphant update of Glen Campbell’s iconic “Rhinestone Cowboy” (with a blessing from songwriter Larry Weiss on the cover’s gender flip). The single is on her upcoming album, Manuel’s Destiny, and features powerful vocalist and runner-up on The Voice, Wendy Moten. The album was recorded at The Sonic Ranch, Tomillo, TX. Built on a near-symphonic arrangement of soaring violins, exultant trumpets, vihuela, and heavenly harp, “Rhinestone Cowgirl” is a powerful account of overcoming the odds and encourages everyone to pursue their dreams. Stephanie has built her career in Texas. She was the first independent female artist to hit No. 1 for five weeks on the Texas Music Chart with her song “Shakin’ Things Up.” She made history by being the first artist to perform with mariachi on the Grand Ole Opry. She dueted with Willie Nelson at his 4th of July Picnic. Stephanie tours internationally, performing in 14 countries. She has played well-respected venues in Texas such as the Mucky Duck, Poor David’s Pub, The Verizon, and The Saxon Pub. She is a TCA's Texas Touring Artist. She is a Kerrville New Folk Finalist and #1 Billboard Country Songwriter. She was featured in the national television series Troubadour, TX, and starred in the Texas Western movie Courage.
