PAPA RANGI. Papa Rangi is a Tikopian (Polynesian outlier island in the far southeast of the Solomons) songwriter, musician and rapper who has made a name for himself in the Solomon Islands with his unique blend of traditional Tikopian rhythms and contemporary beats. He is known for his Island music style and his ability to infuse his music with his Tikopian heritage. Papa Rangi's music reflects his experiences growing up in the Islands, and has gained him a dedicated following both in his home country and internationally. He has recently collaborated with a number of other Solomon Islander artists, including Sean Rii, Boi Ysah, Young Davie and many more, which has helped to further establish his reputation as a talented musician in the local music scene. His upcoming release will feature the well-known artist Taina Gee, also from Tikopia Island, which is expected to be a hit among both local and international audiences.
