La Máquina del Tango, is a Spanish-Argentine quintet led by Juan Esteban Cuacci and Mariel Martínez, and they have just released their first album under the title "Acá lejos". The album was recorded at Art Music Recording Studio (Bassano de Grappa, Italy) and released by the Italian company Caligola Records. The whole work highlights the search for new sounds, both inside and outside the Tango, and the sound achieved by the group, both for the more classic repertoire of the genre, as well as for the new compositions, made in this work by Juan Esteban Cuacci The group's goal is to renew the genre and make it more attractive to new generations. To do that, they bet on an unusual sound in which their instruments, voice, piano, viola, double bass and drums, work in a different way than usual in Tango, thus generating a truly new sonority, but without leaving aside its purest porteño essence. "Acá Lejos" has 13 songs, five of them instrumental and eight sung by Mariel Martínez, one of the leaders of this group, who, although she could be considered a tango singer, is totally out of the known clichés of the genre, contributing a new way of singing this repertoire.
