About Su’Lan: Su'Lan is a fast-rising Oakland-based rap duo comprised of Saunsu (Su) and Emahalani (Lan). Before meeting and forming a group during their modeling careers, Lan was born and raised in Oakland, CA, while Su was born and raised in Pittsburg, CA, about 35 miles inland. Each grew up in households where music was played consistently, especially rap & hip-hop. For Su, she grew up on 90’s legends, like Biggie and Tupac, as Lan listened to a lot of hard rap, like Lady of Rage and Public Enemy. With inspiration from Lil’ Kim, Salt-N-Pepa, and Nicki Minaj, who stood at the forefront during their teens, Su and Lan began exploring their own musical talents, and started their rap careers!
