Lawrence McEwen, better known as Hellz Flame, grew up on the North side of Omaha, Nebraska in a single family home.  “I started singing at the age of 5 and I started writing and rapping lyrics at the age of 14” said Flame.  Growing up in North Omaha had its difficulties.  At the age of 9 years old, after witnessing the murder of his Aunt by the hands of his Grandmother, Hellz Flame found solace in music, "This is Soul Music, this is how I cope with Life".  Life was never easy on the young man and after a few run ins with the law he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to be with his kids and be that Father to them that he never had.  He had to start his career over with a long road ahead of him. After moving to Lincoln, Hellz Flame recorded a song that he wrote, called “I get tired” which he said, it’s about the life I lived, the life I was living now, the struggles, the people lost to the streets and my message to the next generation that was following in his footsteps.  “ I felt some sort of responsibility to that generation to share my mistakes and explain that there will be ups n downs in life, It goes to show, you never give up on what you believe in. Hellz Flame has lots of music with the already released first single “Nothing.”  Hip Hop Soul is what he calls it, I sing and rhyme on the song Nothing and a few others on the album as well so I blended the Soul and Hip Hop to get Hip Hop Soul.” Said Flame. Also released this year is a Rap Album called “Peaked Out”
