Biography

Fabrice Martinez is a musician equally at home on the improvised, jazz, classical, contemporary and traditional music scenes. He established himself early on as a leader and soloist in numerous ensembles. He plays with Drôles de dames, Olivier Benoit's Orchestre national de jazz (The Chicago Suite, with Mike Reed), Thomas de Pourquery's Supersonic, Daniel Humair's New Quartet, Claude Tchamitchian's Grand Lousadzak, Fred Pallem's Sacre du Tympan.... He is also artistic director of the Twins project with the La Boutique collective and Vincent Peirani, and can be heard on Bruno Angelini's album Transatlantic Roots, as well as with Marc Ducret on Métatonal and ICI, etc. In 2022, he created his new project, Stev'in My Mind, based on Stevie Wonder's music of the 1970s, revisited with Congolese drummer Romaric Nzaou, a specialist in traditional African music.
