The Honey Straws

All My Friends

Nah I'ma Stay in Bed

Biography

Produced by The Ginger Twins and mixed by fourteen time Grammy Award winning producer/mixer Ron Saint Germain (Soundgarden, U2, Steve Earle, Mick Jagger,
Jimi Hendrix, Nels Cline, Aretha Franklin), The Honey Straws features members and collaborators of acclaimed NJ bands such as Swampadelica, John Ginty Band,
Neal Casal’s Hazy Malaze, Railroad Earth and From Good Homes. Birthed in Pinebox Studios by keyboardist/singer/songwriter Damian Calcagne, guitarist Mike Buckman, bassist Paul Kuzik and drum extraordinaire Dan Fadel,
The Honey Straws have a vibrant and welcoming sound, inspired by diverse influences; the heavy fuzzfolk of Neil Young & Crazy Horse, the sonic experimentation of Beck, the sweet harmonies of the Beatles, and the swampy funk of The Meters. The album features 2 duets with Damian and wonderful guest vocalist Elliott Peck (Phil Lesh, Midnight North). Elliott weaves her beautiful harmonies throughout the big Honey Straws sound on several tracks, with stunning results. Featured on 2 cuts is the soulful 3-piece horn section, orchestrated by Andy Falco’s Blues Lab saxophonist Justin Marks. The album features a collection of 8 memorable songs, including the psychedelic rock hit “Nah I’ma Stay In Bed”, the feel good vibes of “What’s Your Dog's Name?”, the Peck/Calcagne duets - “I Do” and “Annalee", and the Motown-themed closer “Buh Bye”, that like a diamond, showcase many facets of sound, all waiting to take anyone willing to hop on, for a musical joyride...
