Buenos Aires-based bass player/composer/producer Juan Bayon has played in groups led by Paula Shocron, Adrián Iaies, Eloy Michelini, Bernardo Baraj, Damián Bolotín, Manuel Fraga, Ernesto Jodos, Francisco Rivero, Ricardo Cavalli, Nestor Astarita, Martín Sued, Guillermo Romero and many others, and internationally has worked with Cecilia Todd, Tony Malaby, Jakob Bro, Eden Bareket, Andrew D'Angelo, Tommy Smith, Danny Grissett, Ches Smith, Matija Dedić, Eva Klesse, Paolo Di Sabatino, William Winant, Darmon Meader, Michelle Weir and Judy Niemack. His bass work can be heard on over a hundred records, and since 2014 he has co-led the cooperative label KUAI Music, key to understand the adventurous, forward-thinking jazz/improvised music coming out of the Buenos Aires scene of the past decade.
