Kent Sinfonia is a professional orchestra, based in South East England in the UK. Many of its members also play with major London orchestras. Kent Sinfonia supports contemporary music and has a special interest in performing works by lesser-known 20th century British composers. Its first album, Lost England, features George Butterworth and Walter Leigh, both killed in World Wars. The Orchestra has made three tours to China, to Les Musicale de Redon in France with James Ross, performs regularly with choral societies and playing for opera productions. We aim to build the future of classical orchestral music through programmes for all ages. Our education projects support children’s musical development, especially those lacking exposure to live orchestral music. We also aim to contribute to children’s development and overall learning with interactive workshops and concerts, introducing the widest possible range of music. Next album: Royal Throne of Kings - Vaughan Williams and Shakespeare, with Albion Records, releasing on 1 November 2024: https://kentsinfonia.org
