Biography

Andy Gillion is a British composer, music producer and former lead guitarist and songwriter for metal band, Mors Principium Est. In 2011, Andy became the lead guitarist and songwriter for Finnish melodic death metal band, Mors Principium Est. Since then he has written and released four albums with the band: ...And Death Said Live (2012), Dawn of the 5TH Era (2014), Embers of a Dying World (2016) and Seven (2020). Andy first gained recognition releasing video game guitar remixes on his YouTube channel. In 2009, he joined local metal band, Shadow Law, from Bristol, UK, as lead guitarist and songwriter. The band’s debut album, Defending the New World was released in 2011. In 2016, Andy went on to become a finalist in the 2016 Guitar Idol competition, performing live at The 100 Club in London, UK. In addition to his work as a metal guitarist, Andy has also composed music for The BBC, video games, TV commercials and various independent films. In 2019, Andy released his debut solo record, Neverafter, featuring guitar hero, Jeff Loomis and drummer, 66samus. In 2022, he released his second solo project, Arcade Metal, to critical acclaim, featuring artists such as Matthew K. Heafy and legendary video game composer, Yuzo Koshiro. In 2024, Andy's third solo album, Exilium, was released featuring Unleash The Archers vocalist, Brittney Slayes, and Psycroptic drummer, Dave Haley.
