Biography

Exile is a hip hop group from Quesnel, BC, CA. The team consists of Ryan Knutson (Explicit), Paul Heinzelman (Ill Logik), and Janelle Stoker. Since the group was founded back in 2011 the two went from making music in a bedroom, to investing their time and money into building a professional studio space that would eventually birth their debut mix tape “One Of A Kind”. It wasn’t long after the group was formed they released their very first music video in 2011 titled “Close My Eyes”. Come 2015, the group had gained a singer by the name of Janelle Stoker, who had went from a lifetime of talent shows and small local events to doing sold out shows with Exile. Not long after in December of 2016, Exile released their first studio album success “Business as Usual featuring hit songs such as "Rearview" and "Ghosts". Three years later, on September 7th 2019, their much anticipated second studio album titled Round 2 was finally released to the public. Round 2 was Exile’s introduction into a new quality of sound, lyrics, and lightly exploring new genres. The success of this album lead to more opportunities, from opening for big Canadian artists to interviewing on CBC radio and having a song played on the station. Working with the likes of Merkules, Evil Ebenezer, Onlyone, and Hard Target, and now peaking 150,000+ views and over 15 music videos, the group shows no sign of slowing down.
