Myk Valen is an R&B and alternative hip-hop artist out of Chesapeake, Virginia. His musical career started after breaking his hip during a collegiate soccer match. To get his mind off his injury, he began looking for new hobbies and came across Soundtrap. His friends heard his sound and pushed him to keep at it. 
 So, in the summer of 2019 he began spending every waking hour improving his craft to create a sound that was uniquely his own. He taught himself to make beats by studying YouTube vidoes. He continues to push himself and gain inspiration by listening to artists of various genres.
