RjVj = Rob J Girardi & Veronica Jay Clay RjVj's music is ethereal symphonic gaze - sounds & visions spawned from their post-punk, goth, & classical music backgrounds. RjVj's compositions are influenced by their love for storytelling, film & soundtracks, the cosmos & nature - creating a duality of hope and pain. Rob's howling guitar drones into shimmering arpeggios, Veronica's haunting vocals & choral synth strings wax and wane with the pulsing bass & drums - setting an otherworldly scene. Rob and Veronica write & arrange their music, Veronica writes the lyrics. Rob records & mixes RjVj in their home studio & at Wright Way Studios. In 2019, RjVj began playing live - honored to support Lydia Lunch's Verbal Burlesque. Since then, they've been fortunate to play w a variety of talented artists: Kælan Mikla, Orville Peck, Rasputina, L'Avenir, Kiss of the Whip, Chemical Waves, Quattracenta, Arch of Love, Swoll, Dust Bowl Faeries, Divining Rod, Jef Brown, Shirle Hale, Total Maniac, & Revvnant. In 2020 for Night of 100 Elviras, RjVj played a cover set of favorite horror & murder ballad songs: Rosemary’s Baby, Assault on Precinct 13, Halloween, Furnace Room Lullaby, & Henry Lee. Due to Covid-19, their shows w Golden Apes, The Spearmint Sea, Secret Shame, & Painted Mirror were cancelled. In 2020 & 2021, RjVj participated in 4 livestreams - raising money for Baltimore nonprofits & ONCE Somerville. Currently, RjVj are recording their next single & happily, playing live shows again.
