Biography

Antwerp resident David Edren has steadily been creating electronic sounds, as DSR Lines, for almost 2 decades. Starting off with programmed music, Edren slowly evolved towards analogue synth improvisations. His use of the classic ARP 2500 (album 'III-II') and Buchla 200 and Serge Synthesizer systems ('Analogie Van de Dageraad') has had a profound influence on his overall sound, performing calm rhythmic structures and ambient soundfields. The DSR Lines discography includes LP's on Ultra Eczema, cassettes on Jj Funhouse, Lal Lal & Sic Sic and tracks for compilations released by Ekster, Troglosound, Kerm and Ikuisuus amongst others. Edren was also one of the featured artists on a new library album with sounds by Suzanne Ciani, Sarah Davachi, Guenter Schlienz and notable others. In 2018 Edren teamed up with artist Jatinder Singh Durhailay to record the album 'Tea Notes', released on 12" vinyl by the label Ekster in 2019. Two new albums will see the light of day in February 2023; a highly anticipated solo effort titled 'Relativiteit Van de Omgeving' through NotNotFun Records and the collaborative album 'Flow | 流れ' with H.Takahashi. Edren is a master in creating magnificent melodies in which, aside from Eastern and Indian music, he is regularly inspired by fauna and flora, botanical gardens, tea, ... , the album Spirit & Form released by Antwerp label JJ Funhouse, is yet another new highlight in the career of this unique artist, whose work always radiates a unique beauty.
