Kurt Justin Sampson, better known by his stage name Apollo Don, is a South African lyricist, songwriter and producer from the south side of Johannesburg Apollo Don, being the one with the laid back style of the southern sounds of generation x that emerged in the wake of the rising influence of the hip-hop culture in South Africa. He is a self-taught artist who started writing rhymes way back in 2007 at 14 years old when him and a friend decided to start making their own music after being inspired by artist like 50cent, Lil Wayne & T. I. At this time in a little township called Ennerdale hip hop wasn't a big genre of music but as soon as he wrote his first rhyme, he was hooked. A few years later he dropped out of school and started pursuing music full time, saving up for some basic studio equipment using the FL Studio software and laptop to finetune his craft. There he developed an acute interest in working with a lot of artists whom he collaborated with, that included freestyle cyphers with his buddies and inspiring almost all of them to also pursue music, eventually making music and in turn refined his musical talent and gaining a love and passion for music
