Biography

Started in 1992 by the father and son duo of Ernie and Jason Couch following their time as members of The Plainsmen Quartet. Ernie had been the second longest tenured pianist for that group since his teacher Easmon Napier. Ernie and Jason wanted a group where they could do their music their way, much like sone of their favorites had done in other genres through the years like Jerry Lee Lewis, the outlaw movement in country music, and rock groups like The Band and The Stones. Ernie Couch & Revival was born, and for the last 30 plus years they have performed in all 48 contiguous states and in Canada averaging 100 concerts a year and millions of miles. The group now includes three generations of Couches and they continue to bring their own blend of “Americana Gospel Music” to folks night after night. Live, energetic, and relatable these guys strife to present a show worthy of the subject matter they sing about. Over the years EC&R has had a number of songs in the gospel charts both in America and in Europe. Their album Going Higher was nominated for a Grammy. They continue to blend their music with other genres and have recorded with a wide variety of other artists including the likes of George Jones, Poco, Patti Page, George Beverly Shea, Petra, James Earl Jones, Tiny Tim, Tommy Roe, and many others. A rich tradition and a style all their own, Ernie Couch & Revival keep bringing the music with a message.
