J Lindsay is a Sydney based artist & producer who began making hip-hop beats on the side while playing in various bands. This side hobby soon progressed into a passionate exploration of a plethora of different genres and sound design processes, from gritty granular synthesis to lush generative soundscapes coalescing into a unique sound of his own. Syndicate Sundays (May 2020) is a collaborative project between two artists & label-mates from independent Sydney record label and collective ‘Spretbot Syndicate’, producer J Lindsay and jazz rapper Kiyanosh. Drawing influences from a spectrum of genres, J Lindsay has established a hip-hop foundation in his production allowing him to explore a variety of sonic ideas, leaving Kiyanosh with a jungle of sounds to freely swing from one idea to another. This ranges from hypnotising flows to laugh out loud adlibs. Amongst the various soundscapes, together they have built a sonic representation of the energy and sometimes chaotic nature of the Spretbot Syndicate label and collective, as well as their relationship together.
