Rafeed Hossain, known as Grafic, is a Bengali-American artist from Long Island, New York. Operating in the realm of hip-hop, Hossain’s style has been referred to as a blend of "old school rap" with the influences of the 2010s “Internet Hip Hop.” However, these labels are loose references to a style completely his own. His journey into music began six years ago- coming from a home where being a professional musician wasn't encouraged, Hossain did what he could, studying music theory in every class he could sign up for all throughout grade school. When the time came to choose what to do next, Hossain committed to a college in NYC, hoping to create more connections and build a rep in the big city. His desire for success has seen him rise to impressive heights, gaining an online following whilst still being a full-time student. The work have shown in many ways. Hossain has already released an array of singles, including huge single “Vagabond,” and a full body of work, "Tour de Tide.” He has been featured on Spotify editorial playlists, such as “Discover Weekly,” “Your Daily Mix,” and “Radio,” all of which have helped. This is not all to say that his path hasn’t been met with challenges. Despite this, however, the dream has not died. Hossain has remained active in the past two years, selling CD’s out of a shoebox or working on new music. Possessing unmatched flow, distinct lyrics and a knack for creating hits, it seems that rap has a new face- and his name is Raf.
